I-80 Crash Results in Two Fatalities
A fatal crash between two vehicles occurred on Tuesday, November 23rd at 8 p.m. This collision resulted in the deaths of two children: a girl, age 12, and a boy, age 8. There were numerous injuries for others involved in the crash as well. The crash occurred near mile marker 81 by Utica.
Life Flight transported one of the children that had been confirmed deceased, while the other child went to Peru via ambulance, and then was flown to Peoria. The child passed away. According to the LaSalle County Coroner’s Office, the two deceased children were from Peru.
The collision required a total of six ambulances to respond and use to help the injured vehicle occupants. There were three other people who were taken to hospitals via ambulance for medical attention.
The Illinois State Police are investigating the crash and there will be updates when the information is released.
