SGKR Donates Thousands to Two Illinois Food Pantries
Schweickert Ganassin Krzak Rundio, LLP recently donated to two food pantries in Illinois. With winter on the way and the holidays rapidly approaching, the food pantries that provide food assistance to local families can use these donations to help them serve those in need.
SGKR and Doug and Rory Schweickert Charitable Trust donated $5,000 to the Illinois Valley Food Pantry. There was an additional $2,000 from SGKR that they raised for two “Power Hours” during the Fill the Truck with Food Drive.
The Illinois Valley Food Pantry serves 750 families a month in LaSalle County. They help families that don’t have sufficient income or are dealing with unemployment, are experiencing a delay in assistance from programs like food stamps, have run out of public aid, or the family’s resources have been depleted because of illness or old age. This way, the family has food security and can use their funds for other means like medicine or other financial expenses.
Hall Township Food Pantry received a $5,000 donation from SGKR and Doug and Rory Schweickert Charitable Trust as well. This food pantry provides food assistance for a variety of towns: Arlington, Bureau, Cherry, Dalzell, Depue, Hollowayville, Ladd, Seatonville, and Spring Valley.
Their mission is to be community leaders in fighting against hunger and to promote involvement. They provide a unique shopping experience for their clients. When the clients arrive at the pantry, they are paired with a Personal Shopper volunteer. This person guides the client through the pantry and gives the clients options to choose from, allowing the client to select the options that their family will enjoy the most.
Mike Krzak talked about the importance of supporting the community through their work and charitable actions.
“SGKR has made it part of its mission to help those in need in our community through the work we do as injury attorneys and as a responsible business that is committed to giving back. These donations are part of our partnership with the community where our team of lawyers, paralegals, and support staff live.”
